However there is a much debate amongst the scholars on the political role and leadership of women in Islamic perspective. This article gives a brief overview of the opinions of selected scholars of subcontinent on the referred issue. It explores that wherever there was a need, Muslim women showed the essence of their abilities and talents. Muslim women who were mature in political understanding used to offer their services in the field of politics with freedom and convenience. Muslim rulers were fully aware of women’s understanding and political awareness. From time to time, these rulers consulted politically savvy women in state affairs and sometimes sought advice from these women.
