Mawlānā Abdul Ḥaq Ḥaqqānī (1846-1911) was a great scholar of Islam. In his time, due to Sir Syed Ahmad Khan's ideas intellectual violence arose among modern educated people. Christian missionaries and preachers of Arya Samaj stood up against Islam. Ḥaqqānī has a distinguished position in refuting these thoughts in his Tafsīr named Fath al-Mannān or Tafsīr-e-Ḥaqqānī. He has answered the objections of Hindus, Christians and the questions raised by Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. He has refuted the views of Mu'tazila and Khawarij. He has used philosophical and logical reasoning in criticizing and falsifying the ideas and beliefs of his opposing groups. Ḥaqqānī’s commentary also provides answers to modernists, orientalists, Hindus and Christians. This paper studies his views regarding his responses to the refuters of Ḥadīth. It concludes that Ḥaqqānī has given the views of the opponents of Hadīth and their responses in an auspicious manner.
