Naẓm-e-Quran (Coherence in the Quran) is the prominent branch of tafsīr sciences. This paper studies the subject in context of the exegetical views of Mawlānā Hussain ʻAlī al-Wānī (1867-1944), a prominent scholar of the referred field of Qur’ānic exegesis. Al-Wānī’s significant work in the area is his tafsīr “Bulghat al-Ḥairān fī rabṭ Āyāt al-Furqān”, in which he discusses the coherence and orderliness in Qur’ānic Suras and verses from beginning to the end. Al-Wānī views on the subject are unique in nature as they do not deviate from the traditional views of classical ʻUlamāʻ. His sources in his commentary have been Ḥadīth, interpretations of the companions of the Prophet (ﷺ) and the context of the revelation of the verses. His approach towards Naẓm of the Quran has made his position unique and significant among the Qur’ānic scholars.
