Abstract

Orthodox and liberal understanding of the Qur̓ānic text are the two important trends of Qur̓ānic exegesis in present times. In the liberal way of interpretation classical Muslim thinkers tried to counter the challenges and impacts of Greece Philosophy. In the present scenario these kinds of interpretation are popular in modern educated Muslims. These kinds of efforts were declared erroneous understanding by the main stream Muslims in early ages as well as in the present era. Many so called Muslim scholars while interpreting Qur̓ānic text neglect the Aḥādīth and interpretations of the traditional scholars. This paper attempts to know the liberal trends of comprehensions and to analyze their approaches.
