Bēkhūd was a famous classical poet of Dehlī. He considered amongst the most famous disciples of Dāgh Dehlavī. Although his poetic impression represents Dahg,s poetic skills but he also gained excellency in representing Urdu Ghazal. He wrote Ghazals, panegyrics, Quatrians and other generes of poetry but his Dīwāns (Guftār–e- Bēkhūd and Durr-e-Shahwār) mostly based on Ghazals. His poetic expression is so simple and appealing that no one can deny his Poetic skills. In prose his Mirat-ul-Ghalib and Nang-o-Namoos (novel) are also considered milestone in his writings.
