Abstract

Bēkhūd was a famous classical poet of Dehlī. He considered amongst the most famous disciples of Dāgh Dehlavī. Although his poetic impression represents Dahg^,s poetic skills but he also gained excellency in representing   Urdu Ghazal. He wrote Ghazals, panegyrics, Quatrians and other generes of poetry but his Dīwāns (Guftār–e- Bēkhūd and Durr-e-Shahwār) mostly based on Ghazals. His poetic expression is so simple and appealing that no one can deny his Poetic skills. In prose his Mirat-ul-Ghalib and Nang-o-Namoos (novel) are also considered milestone in his writings.
