Alfiyyat al-Iraqi on the Unfamiliar Vocabulary of the Qur’an: A Critical Analytical Study

Abstract

“Alfiyya fi Ghareeb Alfaz il Quran” is the great contribution of Zain-ud-Din al-Iraqi (725H-806H), a distinguished scholar who had mastery in Ilam- Ut-Tafseer, as well as in Hadith, Al Seerah al Nabawiyyah and Islamic Jurisprudence of his era. The present article entitled as “Alfiyya Al-Iraqi fi Ghareeb Alfaz il Quran”: An Analytical study” deals with the “Alfiyya fi Ghareeb Alfaz il Quran”. It comprises of three parts: the first one is a short preface, the second is his analytical work which has two parts: the first one is on methodology of Alfiyya, the second is a stylistic study and the third is the results & findings.
