About the Journal

Research Journal Al-Qamar, Lahore is a quarterly, double-blind peer-reviewed, open access academic journal published by Al-Qamar Islamic Research Institute, an independent research institute dedicated to the promotion of quality scholarship in Islamic Studies and related fields of knowledge. The journal is among the early scholarly journals in Pakistan established and managed by an independent research organization rather than a university, with its first issue published in 2017 after two years of rigorous academic planning, editorial development, and institutional preparation.

The journal is multidisciplinary in scope and covers major areas of Islamic learning and allied disciplines, including Qurʾānic Studies, Ḥadīth, Sīrah, Fiqh and Islamic Law, Sufism, Philosophy, Theology, Islamic history, Muslim civilization, classical and contemporary Muslim thought, interfaith studies, ethics, education, social sciences, and issues concerning Muslim societies in Pakistan and the wider world.

Research Journal Al-Qamar aims to provide a credible scholarly platform for original research, critical reflection, review essays, scholarly commentaries, and academic monographs. It welcomes manuscripts that contribute new insights, sound methodology, balanced argument, and meaningful academic value. The journal accepts submissions in English, Urdu, and Arabic, encouraging scholarly dialogue across diverse linguistic and intellectual traditions.

The journal follows strict academic and ethical standards, including double-blind peer review, plagiarism detection, editorial screening, publication ethics, digital preservation, research data responsibility, and long-term online accessibility.
